In chat, I just realized that DC editors pretty much eighty-six'd one of MacDuffie's JLA stories because they didn't want to kill Kendra Saunders...because they needed her alive for Geoff Johns to kill in Blackest Night.
This is what the emotion skullfuck emotion is for: I'm not sure if, as a Ben 10 fan, I should be madly cackling because Dwayne MacDuffie got screwed over for such an ass-stupid reason; or if, as a Geoff Johns hater, I should be upset that the likely superior story didn't get written by the superior writer. By having the skullfuck emotion, which is basically the emotional equivalent of exception handling, I can just not care and go about my day.
Better living through psychological hacking!
