I think it's the mother board. If that's the case, I can probably pick up a new one this week or next. Still sucks, though.
Enough hardware work for the day. I'm going to try and salvage the rest of my weekend with a little JavaScript tinkering. |

Disconnect everything that isn't providing you video and input and see how it behaves.
Inspect the motherboard VERY carefully for any capacitors that seem swollen or leaky, or traces of evaporated liquids from such, or corroded traces. A radioshack capacitor and a few minutes with a soldering item is a cheap remedy... I've got a very nice 10 port gigabit hub in the basement I bought on a 90% or so discount because it was non-func, a particular model Netgear that is well known for blowing two $0.59 power filter caps.
Tonight or tomorrow my plan is to do just that, see if I can get anything. I have, in the past, mistaken a bad MoBo because the thing was grounded to the case, so here's hoping maybe it's just that. | |
